NetDocuments and FileTrail Strengthen Information Governance through Records Management Technology Integration

Law Firms Benefit from Unified Platform for Electronic and Physical Documents

PHILADELPHIA – Dec. 2, 2015 – FileTrail, a global leader in physical records management software and RFID tracking solutions, and NetDocuments, the leading cloud-based document and email management (DMS) service provider for legal and other professional services markets, have announced an integration between the two solutions. The integration strengthens information governance programs for legal by providing a unified platform for electronic documents and physical records as well as full visibility to all matter-centric information.

The announcement has been shared through FileTrail’s partner, InOutsource. As a trusted consultation and legal technology implementation services company, InOutsource partnered with FileTrail in July to resell its records management solution.

“Law firms want to easily access, track and report on physical and electronic client matter records from a unified display,” said Nancy Beauchemin, CRM, founder and president of InOutsource. “This integration is an important step toward fulfilling that requirement.”

“Physical paper documents are a key component of any sound records management and information governance strategy. FileTrail elegantly combines physical records management with NetDocuments’ document and email management service to create an integrated, secure, organized and compliant system for managing all records,” commented Travis Reed, technology partnership program director for NetDocuments.

“We firmly believe that physical records will continue to be used indefinitely. Whether law firms choose to be electronic, physical or both, the combined technologies of FileTrail and NetDocuments can facilitate the needs of law firms, improve efficiency and remove the hassle of using multiple programs,” said Darrell Mervau, president of FileTrail.

With the new integration, law firms can now benefit from advanced physical records management technologies. Through an easy-to-deploy plug-in for NetDocuments, FileTrail provides a centralized view of all sensitive client matter data that is accessible with a point and click. Through the NetDocuments cloud service, the creation, retrieval and retention of physical records can be openly managed. The result is an effortless paper records management solution that improves workflow, increases productivity for attorneys and support staff and vastly simplifies the management, storage, retention and disposition of records.
