LUNCH & LEARN:
Governance at the Seams of AI – How to Move from AI Pilot to Proven Success
Wednesday (8/26) 12pm— 1:30pm
Location: Magnolia Mezzanine 3 and Magnolia Mezzanine 4
As AI continues to transform the legal industry, successfully moving from experimentation to enterprise-wide adoption requires more than technology alone—it requires governance.
During this interactive session, we’ll discuss the governance, data quality, compliance, workflow, and user adoption challenges that often prevent AI initiatives from progressing beyond pilot programs. We’ll also demonstrate how Microsoft Purview helps stitch together governance across data, users, and AI interactions through capabilities such as data classification, sensitivity labels, Data Loss Prevention (DLP), and retention policies.
Attendees will leave with practical strategies for reducing data risk, strengthening trust in AI, and enabling secure, scalable AI adoption within their organizations.
PRESENTATION:
SharePoint as a DMS: Turning Microsoft 365 into a Legal Work Platform with Epona
Tuesday (8/25) 1pm— 2pm
Location: Magnolia Mezzanine 3 and Magnolia Mezzanine 4
As legal work increasingly takes place across Outlook, Teams, Word, OneDrive, and SharePoint, law firms are reconsidering whether the traditional document management system still reflects how lawyers actually work. This session will examine the adoption, governance, productivity, and information-management challenges created when matter content is fragmented across multiple platforms.
Attendees will learn how Epona adds the matter-centric organization, email filing, metadata, security, search, and lifecycle capabilities needed to transform SharePoint into a viable legal work platform. The session will also explore how Epona, Microsoft Purview, and InOutsource’s legal information governance expertise can support secure collaboration, stronger adoption, and responsible AI readiness.
PRODUCT BRIEFINGS:
Register for as many product briefings as you’d like to attend. (Calendar invitations will be sent for selected sessions.)

Intake Intelligence – Monday (8/24), 2:30pm – 3:00pm CT
InOutsource Intake Intelligence is a reporting and analytics solution built to give law firms deep, data driven visibility into their new business intake and conflicts processes. It leverages InOutsource’s expertise in Intapp Intake and Conflicts and uses Microsoft Power BI to deliver standardized dashboards that surface insight into intake turnaround times, volume trends, team productivity, exceptions management, and onboarding patterns for clients, matters, and lateral hires. Firms can drill into data by practice group, matter profile, geography, or staff resource, and—critically—can deploy the solution and begin generating meaningful insight within just a few weeks.
New Case Filing Intelligence – Monday (8/24), 5:30pm – 6:00pm CT
InOutsource NCFI refers to New Case Filing Intelligence, a business‑development and knowledge‑management solution created by InOutsource. It’s designed to help law firms identify newly filed litigation quickly, enrich that data with internal firm intelligence, and turn it into actionable opportunities for client outreach and strategic BD efforts.
Audit Letter Response – Tuesday (8/25), 5:00pm – 5:30pm CT
InOutsource Audit Letter Response is a purpose built workflow automation solution that streamlines how law firms manage and respond to client audit inquiry letters. It replaces slow, manual, high overhead processes with a centralized, automated system that integrates historical matter data, standardizes lawyer outreach, and consolidates review and reporting. The result is faster, more accurate audit letter responses with significantly less operational burden on risk teams and attorneys.
Legal Taxonomies and the modern DMS
Monday (8/24) 4pm— 5pm
AI-driven document analysis and auto-classification are transforming how firms structure and access institutional knowledge. By applying SALI’s LMSS standards, including WAND, LIST, and NSMI, firms can automatically generate enriched, standardized metadata aligned with industry taxonomies. This structured data improves DMS search accuracy and enables advanced AI-powered workflows across native and third-party platforms.
This session covers best practices for designing a firm-specific taxonomy aligned with SALI standards and demonstrates, through a client case study, how AI auto-classification enhances search and supports downstream AI use cases. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for implementing standards-based metadata to support scalable, AI-ready legal operations.

From Intake to Destruction: Mapping the Modern Data Lifecycle
Monday (8/24) 4pm— 5pm
Law firms generate enormous volumes of data across the client and matter lifecycle, yet most still lack a unified, end to end understanding of how that data moves, who owns it, and how to govern it effectively. This session follows the modern “data journey” from new business intake through retention and disposition, highlighting opportunities for automation, compliance, metadata governance, security controls, and analytics at every stage.
The session also examines how repository strategies are evolving in 2026 as firms recognize that “approved” repositories are not always used repositories. Through real examples and comparative approaches, participants will explore when traditional DMS centric models work, when they don’t, and what modern, scalable alternatives enable lawyers to work naturally across Teams, fileshares, and other platforms while maintaining governance.
Attendees will leave with practical strategies to raise IG maturity and operationalize governance at scale without disrupting legal work.

Unifying M365: Hidden Capabilities Transforming Collaboration and Automation
Wednesday (8/26) 2pm — 3pm
If Microsoft 365 feels overwhelming, you’re not alone. This session brings clarity to the chaos by showing how modern firms weave Teams, SharePoint, Copilot, Purview, and Fabric into one connected, intentional ecosystem.
We’ll explore the architecture, governance, and design decisions that transform scattered tools into a unified platform. You’ll see how Microsoft Lists becomes a quiet powerhouse for building apps, dashboards, and automated workflows that tie your system together.

Dave brings together a super-group of project managers, subject matter experts, and technologists as the strongest implementation team devoted to information governance software in the Legal industry: the Information Governance Systems Group.
He started his career at InOutsource in 2011, doing hands-on records management and information governance work, pushing dirty boxes down rows of dark dusty file rooms, researching obscure data sources and begging attorneys to get rid of ancient files. As law firms increasingly focus on reducing cost and risk through executing on retention, Dave is the man to call to get the job done. He’s successfully deployed retention programs at large law firms and knows it’s a lot more complicated than simply throwing boxes in the shredder. The real work is building the list of eligible materials and gaining necessary approvals – a process Dave can help you automate. Physical and electronic data lives in every nook and cranny in the firm; Dave can help you locate and unify your data into one central repository with sufficient details to drive retention decisions.
Dave doesn’t want customers, he wants partners. While he has been in your shoes before, there is always something new to learn from every client project. Let Dave share with you the lessons learned and collected from the 50+ law firms (and counting!) he has consulted with throughout his career.
