Intapp Consulting Services

200+ Projects — 100% Success Record

Connecting Your Firm with Real Intapp ROI

Purpose-built to address the complex, specialized needs of professional services firms, Intapp’s platform is the industry standard for client lifecycle management — adopted by the majority of mid-sized and large firms globally. At InOutsource, we take pride in our long and unmatched track record with Intapp projects. We have a 100% success rate across over 250 engagements.

Part of what drives that success is our ability not only to implement Intapp software at a technical level (and, increasingly, migrate existing solutions to the cloud) — but also to take advantage of the unique breadth of subject matter expertise our consulting teams bring to each project.

Our expert teams provide assessments, advice, and policy creation and technical services,  tackling issues including risk, conflicts, compliance and information governance. And as the Intapp connected platform continues to create new opportunities for insight, we’re helping firms connect data more effectively with decisions, working with our analytics practice.

Our integrated approach focuses on designing, delivering, and extending solutions that meet your unique needs and integrate well into the broader context of firm practices and priorities.

Product Implementation

INTAPP INTAKE

New Business Intake / Workflow Development

We apply two decades of process consulting experience to implement new business inception solutions. These projects may include mapping existing workflow definitions and forms to the new system, enhancing existing processes, or creating fresh process definitions. Engagements often also include data conversion from legacy systems and creation of NBI reports and dashboards. In many instances we work with clients to develop “associated” workflows, including standalone conflicts check requests, client/matter maintenance requests and more.

INTAPP CONFLICTS

Conflicts of Interest Implementation

Our consulting teams include experts who have worked in-house at law firms as risk management operational leaders, bringing extensive real-world experience. Conflict software projects may include data conversion and cleanup services, integration with intake processes (where deployed separately), configuration of PDF and/or interactive conflicts reports, and other optimization of Intapp product capabilities. We often also deliver detailed training and support clients during the change management / adoption phase and beyond.

INTAPP TERMS

Terms of Business Implementation

We work closely with firms to address the potentially complex challenges associated with addressing client outside counsel guideline compliance with Intapp Terms. These projects may include process consultation, including categorization, review, negotiation and acceptance practices, product customization to configure taxonomy, data and system integration, and reporting. We also offer support for internal training and guidance on best practices for migrating existing OCG, engagement letters and other client agreements and obligations into the new system.

INTAPP WORKSPACES

Content and Collaboration

We combine our unique ability to bridge Intapp technology and information governance best practices, enabling firms to more effectively collaborate and manage content using Intapp Workspaces. These projects may include integrating key systems and data, creating of relevant templates and taxonomies, automating provisioning and configuration of Microsoft Teams workspaces (e.g. membership, access rights, folder structure, linked content) as part of matter inception.

Upgrades & Migrations

Upgrade Services

We regularly work with firms to upgrade their Intapp software to the latest version and release. These projects follow a structured, documented approach, developed through years of experience, that we adapt to our clients’ specific systems, environment and data. These efforts typically include confirming hardware requirements for on-premises solutions, migrating and synchronizing key data across production and development instances, extensive testing, and a closely managed switchover.

Cloud Readiness Assessment & Migrations

The future of the Intapp platform is in the cloud. While Intapp has committed to supporting and upgrading on premises systems for years to come, we increasingly work with firms looking to take advantage of the benefits the cloud provides by migrating their existing software. To deliver a smooth experience, we typically start with an assessment that identifies data, functionality, and other mapping issues. Based on that we can develop more detailed plans and timelines, and scope migration costs.

SOAP to REST Conversion

For organizations who have yet to migrate from legacy SOAP APIs (deprecated in the August 2019 release), we offer migration services to adopt modern REST APIs. The new API improves performance, allows for greater functionality, and improves data management critical to several common business and operational use cases.

Query Integration to Data Sets Conversion

With Intapp placing new limitations on the creation of integrations using SQL-based Query Integration in preparation for the eventual phase-out of that feature, all firms should be getting familiar with Intapp’s native “Data Sets” functionality. Now is the time to start outlining transition plans. We have identified key steps every firm should start taking in the short term, and stand ready to help plan and execute these transitions. [Read more about Transitioning from Query Integration]

Enhancement & Extension

Risk Management Process Automation

Enabling your firm to get even greater return on your Intapp investment, we can help you extend Intapp OnePlace to address common risk workflows including:

  • Lateral / New Hire
  • Automated Bulk Matter Closing
  • Audit Letter Response [Read more about workflow automation]
  • Interactive Conflicts Circulation
  • Securities Trading Request
  • Outside Interests (Directors and Officers) Request
  • Client / Matter Change Request

Data Integrity Check-up

Running an effective and compliant conflicts process depends on having complete and accurate information. If you’re using a non-Intapp, legacy conflicts system, chances are high that data integrity issues are lurking, undiscovered. We help organizations identify and remediate critical data quality issues in their conflicts database. We also can provide data health check reviews for Intapp Conflicts to make sure information is properly stored, clean, and accurate.

Code Table Maintenance Tool

For organizations looking to address ongoing data quality management activities in house, we offer proprietary maintenance tools. These allow non-technical users to maintain code tables like Offices, Practice Areas, Affiliations, and more. Intuitive forms and workflows allow users to make changes and updates, without risking serious referential integrity issues or broken processes. Access to these forms and specific sets of data can be restricted using user and role based controls.

Client Insights

Baker Botts
“From the start, everything InOutsource said really resonated with us. We found that they were very strong and well-rounded — not only in terms of their [Intapp] product knowledge, but also in terms of the broader subject matter. They had a strong group of risk management experts who spoke my language and understood our needs on the business intake and conflicts side... They also understood the technical aspects — they really knew what they were talking about on all fronts.”
Senior Manager, Business Intake and Conflicts
Orrick
"InOutsource has been our primary partner on a wide-scale of implementations & enhancements with direct bearing on core business data needs, for intake, risk compliance and business growth. We are really grateful for the relationship and the camaraderie. InOutsource focuses on building trust in the vendor relationship. They seek solutions, and continually reflect an accountability to the client, even when faced with challenging platform related issues.”
Director, Intake, Risk & Compliance
Seyfarth Shaw
“It was truly impressive how responsive the InOutsource team was to every question, request for information or request for a demonstration. InOutsource took what would have been an extremely frustrating, time-consuming process that would likely have ended with a less than optimal outcome and walked us through a methodical, well-reasoned course to make the most out of available outcomes. We are now able to implement the technology knowing we have a design that best meets our unique needs.”
Associate General Counsel
Blank Rome
“Blank Rome LLP has been using the service of InOutsource for over 10 years on a variety of projects. They consistently have done excellent work for us, including efforts implementing scanning, records management and business intake systems, developing records retention policies, and managing off-site records storage, among other things. They are consummate professionals and I would recommend them highly to anyone who has needs along these lines.”
Chief Information Officer
Stradley Ronon
“I would recommend InOutsource to any firm looking to implement Intapp or expand their use of it. The team takes a real sense of ownership — they treat issues and technical challenges as if our system is their system.”
Senior Business Analyst
Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt
“The strength of InOutsource is in its people. Their proven experience with Intapp Open Intake and Conflicts helped us identify options, process decisions and weigh strategies and tactics from law firms facing similar challenges.”
Director, Conflicts, Records and Risk Management
Goodwin Proctor
“I have recommended InOutsource to everyone in the conflicts field that I have spoken to regarding Intapp implementations.”
Business Intake and Conflicts Manager
Porter Wright
“I always learned something new while interacting with [the team]. Whether it was troubleshooting issues we experienced, performing an Intapp upgrade or general how-to's, I walked away feeling more confident in myself in approaching these areas. I greatly appreciate the guidance, support and knowledge sharing provided from InOutsource!”
Integration Engineer
Shearman & Sterling
“The lawyers started telling their peers, ‘The new system is amazing! Get yourself on it now.’ So there was a lot of internal buzz by the time we were ready to roll out the system firm-wide. And once we were ready, we simply cut over and went live — the big bang approach — and it went without a hitch. InOutsource was on call and available for our team every step of the way.”
